When taken within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected sex or in cases of contraceptive method failure, Pronta 1 Levonorgestrel 1.5mg single tablet averts approximately 85% of anticipated pregnancies. It's important to note that Pronta 1's effectiveness can vary and it might not prevent pregnancy in every situation. The tablet is most effective when taken as soon as possible after unprotected sex.

Pronta 1 operates through two mechanisms:

1. It inhibits the release of an egg from the ovaries.

2. It impedes sperm from fertilizing an already-released egg.

It's crucial to understand that Pronta 1 is designed to prevent pregnancy, but it won't have any effect if pregnancy has already occurred. Also, if you engage in unprotected sex subsequent to taking Pronta 1, it will not provide protection against pregnancy.

Pronta 1 is not recommended for usage before the onset of the first menstrual bleeding (menarche).
